Working to protect the health of our planet’s ecosystem is another of the shared values among Unitarian Universalists. AUUF has long been committed to environmental justice. In 2014, we were certified as a Green Sanctuary, which guides our efforts to reduce humanity’s negative impact on the world.

Our members and minister have also supported local, regional, national, and international efforts for climate justice. Our members are involved in organizations and campaigns to reverse the effects of climate change and create a sustainable future, including the Auburn-Opelika chapter of the Citizen’s Climate Lobby and the Auburn University Office of Sustainability, and the Green Action Information Network (GAIN).
