We are excited to spotlight a recent print-making project led by Robert in RE. Using Adinkra Symbols from Ghana, West Africa, students explored various virtues and values, selecting symbols that resonated with their own identities.
We’re taking this inspiration to the streets this summer! We’ll be showcasing similar pieces as well as pieces donated by local artists at our booth!

The SummerNight Downtown Art Walk is an arts festival that transforms downtown Auburn into its very own arts district, featuring the work of local and regional artists, live music, merchant specials, children’s activities, and a culinary contest. Each year, the City of Auburn/Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC), Auburn Arts Association, Saint Dunstan’s Episcopal Church and the Auburn Downtown Merchants Association host this event to highlight the many talented artists in our community in addition to promoting our unique downtown area.

During SummerNight, downtown merchants and restaurants remain open after regular business hours and people of all ages are encouraged to take advantage of this great opportunity to shop, dine and relax while enjoying the arts in downtown Auburn. Artists have works on display and live musical entertainment is provided. Make sure to bring your children too as they have an opportunity to participate in arts and crafts, as well as enjoy other attractions that change each year! Don’t miss out on this great, family-friendly experience in downtown Auburn!
In addition to the arts festivities, SummerNight Downtown Art Walk also includes a culinary contest.
Auburn SummerNight Downtown Art Walk truly has something for everyone down to the youngest members of our community. SummerNight will feature a children’s area with arts and crafts, face painting, children’s inflatables and more!
SummerNight 2026 Headliner – OTI
Come dance the night away and hear some fantastic Yacht Rock music from Alabama’s very own, Outside the Inside! The Montgomery band has been playing together for the better part of 20 years, and is sailing in to set the tone as this year’s SummerNight Headliner.
Yacht Rock has existed as a genre since the late 1970s as the perfect blend of soul, jazz, and R & B music. The soft rock style was named for its laid back vibes, often associated with the leisure of being on a yacht. Many of your favorite hits from those years fall into this category so whether you’ve been a fan for decades, or are new to the genre, Yacht Rock is sure to have something for everyone!
