Auburn Unitarian Universalist Fellowship voted overwhelming to call Rev. Chris Rothbauer as our settled minister. Rev. Chris will begin their ministry at the AUUF on August 1, 2019. Rev. Rothbauer shares with us a deep desire to foster social justice and inclusivity as we live our first principle, honoring the inherent worth and dignity of all people. Rev. Rothbauer’s roots are from Appalachia and congregations in Michigan, Alberta, Canada and Kentucky have been served by Rev. Rothbauer. In addition to double BA degrees in Philosophy and English, Rev. Rothbauer also has three Master’s degrees including an MA in Philosophy, an MA in Leadership Studies and a M.Div. from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago. Rev. Rothbauer offers AUUF a wealth of experience and perspective in creating a more just world for all people through their work in TRUUsT (Transgender Religious Professional Unitarian Universalists Together) the professional organization for transgender UUs. For our wider Auburn/Opelika community, Rev. Rothbauer offers leadership from their experiences as a founder of Keweenaw Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) and co-founder of the Keweenaw LGBTQ Network.
