Movie screening of Hyperscaled from Southern Exposure Films at 2:15 pm 

Increased energy and water demands from the seemingly overnight rapid development of large data centers, and driven by technological advancements like “AI”, are increasing threats to communities across the Southeast, including Alabama. HYPERSCALED unearths the real world cost of AI as residents fight to get answers about the environmental, community, and other costly impacts of this water and energy sucking industry. Much like a vampire, the proposed “Project Marvel” in Bessemer AL is projected to consume unprecedented amounts of water and energy – right in their backyards.

Natural Dyeing by Rayah Luna (Flora Farms Botanical Homestead) at 2:45 pm 

Join fiber artist Rayah Luna Waters for a hands‑on natural dyeing demo. She specializes in working with natural fibers and creating color from organic materials. In this mini‑workshop, participants will explore tie‑dye techniques using red clay harvested from Red Creek and produce sourced from the market. Bring: any white or light‑colored clothing or fabric if you’d like to try it yourself!
