What can we do to end the death penalty? Christine Freeman retired last year after a distinguished 30-year career advocating for death row inmates: leading the Middle District of Alabama Federal Defender Program and the Alabama Post-Conviction Relief Project (APCRP). She founded the APCRP in 2004 to support attorneys handling capital cases — inmates on Alabama’s death row — to ensure they had resources and legal backing to pursue every available remedy to ensure justice. Before coming to Montgomery, she worked in federal and state public defender roles in Tennessee, Georgia, and Kentucky.
Christine is also a member (past president) of the Montgomery UU Fellowship.
