What’s Love Got to Do With It?

A somewhat whimsical bumper sticker seen years ago stays with me. It read, “Some things have to be believed to be seen,” inverting the old ‘seeing is believing’ adage. As I recall, it was the image of a wizard that suggested that bit of whimsy. And yet—and especially in times like these—the question arises: What must or might we believe in order to see the beauty of mystery, grace, and possibility?
